A client approached us in need of a brand name for a sports app that helps young football players reach professional careers. The client’s clear vision guided us in creating the perfect solution that met all the requirements. The name needed to be:
As always, we began the process by building a foundation of relevant keywords. The next step was to check web domain availability. When it comes to .com domain availability, which was the case here, this often presents the biggest challenge in the brand-naming process. After realizing our initial options were unavailable, we adjusted our approach and decided to creatively modify the original words "Next Player," giving the brand an even cooler and more modern look.
Even though the brand name omits all vowels, "NXT PLYR" remains easy to read and pronounce. We conducted a focus group with the target audience, and 95% of participants correctly pronounced it as "Next Player," which was our goal.
Our mission was accomplished by acquiring the domain nxtplyr.com, and thus, a new brand was born.
